Colle dell’Asinello is an striking stone building on top of a hill in the Umbrian countryside. Woods and olive groves are all there are around it. The views sweeps towards the valley of the River Tiber and the nature oasis of Aviano managed by the WWF which you can visit on guided tours. Various towns can be easily reached, first and foremost being Orvieto with its cathedral, Todi with its important historic centre. You just cannot skip visiting Civita di Bagno Regio, a small village on top of a crag which just until some years ago had been abandoned by all its inhabitants. Today it is reborn thanks to craftwork and cultural activities worthy of interest. Those whose intentions are to spend their holidays just relaxing will be content to relax in the spa which includes a covered swimming pool (9x7, 1.45m deep) available all year round which can be warmed in winter at a further cost (in summer the glass windows are open). Also at an extra cost is the Jacuzzi (3x2), steam cave and tropical shower. Everything is carefully lit to create pleasing lighting effects. Inside, everything has been studied blending the colour of the stone walls with the wood of the ceiling and pastel colours. If you then want to treat yourself to an exclusive dinner you can request a chef who will delight you with local dishes. All the bedrooms have air-conditioning and insect screens at the windows, the bathrooms have hair-driers and a welcome kit. The accommodation has central heating and wi-fi Internet connection.
